Click Choose PDF or drag and drop a document into the upload area. Once it opens, select a page from the thumbnail sidebar or use the Previous page and Next page controls to navigate the document.

  2. 2

Choose an annotation tool from the toolbar. Use Add text to insert written content, Highlight, Underline, or Strikethrough to mark important areas, or Pen for freehand drawing. You can also create rectangles, ellipses, lines, and arrows, add a Sticky note, or insert a JPG, PNG, or WebP image with Add image.

  3. 3

Click the page to place text or a sticky note, or click and drag to create drawings and other visual marks. When an annotation is selected, use the properties panel to adjust its available settings, including text, font, color, transparency, or line thickness.

About Edit & Annotate PDF

Feedback is easier to understand when it appears exactly where a change is needed. Instead of sending a separate list of corrections, you can mark a PDF directly: highlight a questionable figure, draw an arrow toward a diagram, add a comment beside a paragraph, or insert a clarification where the reader will see it. Edit & Annotate PDF provides these capabilities in a visual editor suited to document reviews, proofreading, technical feedback, and collaborative revisions.

The editing toolbar combines written annotations with graphical markup. Add text using Arial, Georgia, or Courier New, with adjustable font size, bold and italic formatting. Freehand strokes, geometric shapes, arrows, underlines, and strike-through marks support visual explanations, while configurable colors, transparency, and line widths help distinguish different types of feedback. You can also insert photographs, logos, or other supported images and adjust their placement without altering the original PDF page content.

Navigation and editing controls make longer review sessions manageable. Page thumbnails provide quick access to different sections, zoom levels help with close inspection, and Undo and Redo allow corrections without starting over. Each annotation belongs to its selected page and can be adjusted independently before export. The document is processed within your browser rather than being sent to a remote conversion service.

The finished PDF incorporates your visual additions into the pages themselves, making it suitable for distributing marked-up copies to colleagues, clients, or reviewers. It is important to distinguish this kind of annotation from directly editing existing PDF text or creating native, independently editable PDF comments. The purpose is to communicate changes and add visible information while keeping the source document's original content intact.
