About View & Remove Office File Metadata

Modern Office documents are ZIP-based packages that can retain descriptive information beyond what appears on the page, worksheet or slide. This tool opens the relevant OOXML property parts and presents stored core, application and custom fields without executing the document itself.

Batch selection is designed for two different privacy tasks. All Files applies a chosen property type wherever it exists across the batch, while Individual File allows a different cleanup decision for every document. Empty stored values remain distinguishable from properties that are not present, and generated packages are inspected again before they are offered for download.

The scope is intentionally precise rather than overstated. Removing package properties is useful before sharing documents, but it does not sanitize comments, revision history, hidden content, embedded objects, image metadata or information written in the document body. Original files remain untouched and all processing stays in the browser.
