Frequently asked questions

About CSS Box Shadow Generator

Convincing elevation often combines a broad soft shadow with a tighter contact shadow, while inset depth requires an entirely different placement. CSS Box Shadow Generator keeps these effects as separate selectable layers instead of forcing users to edit a dense comma-separated string.

Each layer exposes the complete CSS model: horizontal and vertical offset, blur, spread, color, alpha and inset. Presets quickly establish familiar strengths, but every value remains editable and up to six layers can contribute to the final stack.

Preview controls simulate different surfaces and corner shapes without contaminating the result. The generated declaration contains only box-shadow, preserving a clean handoff into an existing component style.
