Barcode Generator

Build a single retail, logistics, industrial or 2D barcode with rules tailored to its symbology and a verified value ready for export.

Barcode Data

Enter 12 digits; the final check digit will be calculated automatically. A valid 13-digit value is also accepted.

Appearance

Barcode values and files are generated locally in your browser and are not intentionally sent to NevioTools servers.

How to use Barcode Generator

  1. 1

Choose the required symbology from the Retail / Product, General / Industrial, GS1 / Logistics or 2D groups.

  2. 2

Enter the value according to the format guidance. For supported retail identifiers, omit the last digit to calculate it or include it for validation.

  3. 3

Set the barcode and background colors, transparency and render scale; linear formats also offer bar height and human-readable text controls.

  4. 4

Inspect the live symbol, resolved barcode type and complete encoded value, correcting any validation message before export.

  5. 5

Copy the final value, download a high-resolution PNG or save the same barcode geometry as vector SVG.

Frequently asked questions

About Barcode Generator

Different barcode families impose very different rules. A retail EAN cannot be treated like an unrestricted Code 128 value, and a Data Matrix does not share the proportions of a linear shipping symbol. Barcode Generator exposes those distinctions through grouped symbologies, contextual guidance and format-specific validation.

For EAN, UPC, ISBN and ITF-14 identifiers, check-digit handling is part of the input workflow rather than an afterthought. The resolved value is shown beside the preview, making it clear which digits will be encoded. Visual settings then adapt to the selected family, including appropriate color, density, text and bar-height controls.

Both exports originate from the current validated configuration: PNG provides a clean high-resolution raster, while SVG retains vector edges for resizing and press work. Rendering is performed locally and does not create a hosted or tracked barcode.
