A recognized $schema declaration overrides the selector. External references are never fetched; internal $ref, $defs and draft-specific references are resolved locally.

Ready to validate

Enter a Schema and JSON Data, then click Validate JSON.

Validation runs in a temporary browser worker. Your Schema and JSON Data are not uploaded, stored or used to resolve network references.

About JSON Schema Validator

JSON Schema changes across drafts, so validation is meaningful only when the vocabulary is known. This workspace supports four widely used versions and reports the effective choice instead of silently treating every schema as the newest draft. Schema compilation and instance validation run in a worker to keep the interface responsive.

Each failure carries human-readable context plus instance and schema locations, allowing developers to connect bad data with the keyword that rejected it. The tool does not fetch arbitrary remote references or submit schemas to a service. Copyable and downloadable reports preserve the local findings for issue tracking or API review.
